BLOOD-FE-TEE: From “Blood fed on the teat.” One who was born a vampire, usually the child of two vampire parents.
BLOODPHYLL TEA: A tea made from an herb that a vampire can drink for nourishment instead of blood.
COLLECTIVE: 1. A territory belonging to a group of vampires. 2. A group of vampires who share a territory.
CONCLAVE: A group of vampires who associate together, but as yet, have no land.
ROGUE: A vampire who is not part of a Conclave or Collective.
SERVANT OF A VAMPIRE (OR SERVANT): Half-vampire of a sort, he or she serves their mistress or master vampire for several years, sometimes decades, in exchange for being turned. Servants feed on insects, spiders, and rodents.
SOCIETY FOR THE SLAYING OF SUPERNATURALS (a.k.a. the S3; a.k.a. the SLAYERS): A thousands-of-years-old organization dedicated to the total destruction of all Supernaturals.
SUPERNATURALS: There are two types of supernaturals: 1. Organic Supernaturals, beings whose genetic structure differs from humans (examples: vampires, werewolves). 2. Practicing Supernaturals, humans that practice supernatural arts (examples: witches, warlocks).
THRALL: A human that a vampire regularly feeds upon. The V-Thrall relationship is usually amorous. The affair can last from a few days to several years. When the relationship ends the human often loses all recollection of the V.
TURNED: Meaning, “became a vampire.” Used to describe a person who was born human and later transformed into a vampire.
